DUTIES: The purpose of this position is to perform technical and administrative work related to implementing the pretreatment program, monitoring, inspecting and providing information regarding proper management of wastewater contaminants to industrial establishments connected to the wastewater system. Responsibilities extend to sample and collection of industrial effluent and performing bacteriological and chemical analysis of water and/or wastewater reporting on test conducted and maintaining records of such test. Reports to the Water Treatment Supervisor. Also responsible for implementation of the Industrial Water Survey (IWS) Program, providing sampling, reviewing construction drawings and issuing permits, drafts administrative orders, and reviews enforcement actions, maintaining pretreatment program standards and operating instructions and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Two years of college coursework in chemistry, biology, environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field. Experience: Two (2) years experience in wastewater collections or working at a wastewater treatment plant. Licenses/Certification: A valid driver's license. Grade II Treatment or Collection certification is required within two testing periods after hired.
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week. Typically works Monday-Thursday (7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
