What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist position at PBF Energy?
The Machinist is responsible to provide skills to repair / revamp / install new, plant rotating equipment.
Provide skills to repair equipment (pumps, fans, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, etc.) that normally requires the removal of the equipment from the field. Make shop repairs and reinstall equipment. Provide skills to use a lathe to the extent of checking shafts for straightness, filing or polishing of fit areas and machine for proper fits, skills to use a drill press, boring mill, milling machine, and high speed balance.

Basic/Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
- Machinist Apprenticeship or equal. A minimum of five (5) years of rotating equipment shop or field repair experience required, petrochemical field experience preferred.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Computer skills (Microsoft office/Outlook).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
- Must be eligible to qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card) or currently hold this identification card.
- Must work 12-16 hour shifts when required, which includes some weekends and holidays, working overtime.
- Meeting physical criteria for the job and passing drug and alcohol screenings and passing a written test.
