Quant Programmer

PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Quant Programmer to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. This role would be located onsite at our Company headquarters in Parsippany, NJ.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of calculations serving the Enterprise Risk Project as well as the needs of the business
• Specifically
• Mark to Market
• Risk
• VAR
• Work with the commercial risk group to carry out analyses
• Collaborate with commercial stakeholders on organizational needs
• Support system and ensure compliance
  
  

Qualifications:

Required

• Analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Proven experience with OOP languages (Java, C , VB.NET)
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Excellent complex problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong Preference will be given to candidates with

• Experience with R, Matlab, or Python
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the physical sciences, engineering, or a related field preferred
• 5 years of experience in software development preferably in the energy trading and/or refining industry or 3 plus years with advanced degree including post graduate research and/or industrial experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Visio)
• A deep knowledge of software engineering including object oriented software design
