Risk Analyst / MRA Coder

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Risk Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with medical coding and billing processes. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9, to ensure compliance and accuracy in medical records and collections.

Duties

• Analyze risk factors related to medical coding, billing, and collections.
• Review and interpret medical records to ensure proper coding practices.
• Conduct audits of coding accuracy and compliance with ICD-10 and ICD-9 standards.
• Collaborate with medical office staff to enhance understanding of risk management practices.
• Develop reports on risk assessments and present findings to management.
• Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, coding guidelines, and regulations affecting risk management.
• Assist in the training of staff on best practices for medical coding and documentation.

Skills

• Proficient knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG (Diagnosis Related Group), and medical terminology.
• Experience with medical collection processes and systems.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and discrepancies in data.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in coding and documentation.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Familiarity with medical office operations and procedures related to risk management.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $93,428.00 per year
