Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient care, including taking vital signs, administering injections, and conducting blood draws.
- Prepare patients for exams, including explaining procedures and preparing equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including updating medical histories and administering medications.
- Perform routine administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and answering phone calls.
- Collaborate with other medical assistants to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Provide basic life support, including CPR and first aid.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of medical terminology and physiology knowledge.
- Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay up-to-date on the latest medical procedures and technologies.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment, adhering to all infection control protocols.
- Provide exceptional patient care, including patient education and support.
Requirements:
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant or the ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe.
- Experience in a hospital or clinic setting, preferably in emergency medicine or hospital medicine.
- Basic life support certification.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and physiology knowledge.
- Ability to administer medications and provide patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
