Garage Ambassador Employee Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Practices excellent customer service skills by greeting guests in a professional and friendly demeanor. Advocates good will for the City of Virginia Beach by providing excellent customer service to residents and guests. Demonstrates knowledge of parking ordinances, parking options and rates, and Oceanfront events and amenities to assist guests and residents. Creates a positive image of the City of Virginia Beach by maintaining a professional, empathetic, and composed demeanor when interacting with guests and residents.

- Capable of using current technology
- Understands Google applications including G-Mail and Google
- Ability to trouble shoot and resolve issues.
- Knowledge of parking codes and regulations
- Able to stand and or walk for extended periods.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- Knowledge of Oceanfront area
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work hours more than normally scheduled hours.
- Able to work well under pressure during peak summer hours.
Qualifications
D Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses technology to monitor and enforce public parking spaces in the COVB parking garages.
- Practices excellent customer service skills when engaging with guests, residents, contractors, and employees.
- Assists guests with parking rates and QR code payments in the parking garages.
- Exhibits familiarity of oceanfront events and amenities and can provide general directions.
- Promotes public and resident safety by maintaining a state of awareness of physical hazards and suspicious activity.
- Monitors vehicle counts.
- Follows lot full procedures, including moving signs.
- Uses email as a daily communication tool.
- Organizes equipment and supplies.
- Promotes a positive image of the City of Virginia Beach
- A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE IS REQUIRED
