Critical to the success of this role is a thirst for understanding our stakeholders to clearly identify and understand their business goals to develop relevant propositions to meet their needs. This role will have the opportunity to explore collaboration with partners, sponsors, strategic alliances etc. to develop winning programs and collaborations. PCMA’s portfolio of events, trainings, advertising solutions, and digital solutions, and more, serve varied professional development needs, and networking purposes that drive a highly valued business events peer network.

The incumbent is people-oriented and seeks to connect people with businesses meaningfully. This position will require a good understanding and knowledge of the business events also known as MICE industry. This role enables the candidate to build a strong regional network in the industry with opportunities to work with senior level executives and professionals to strengthen own’s professional development and career.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and drive sales plan to exceed expected revenue goals monthly and annually for the Asia region.
  • Drive lead generation and proactively reaching out to prospects and stakeholders to identify needs, research and prepare proposals, maintain assets chart etc. to secure new exhibitors, sponsors, advertisers, enterprise sales, partners for regional and global assets.
  • Develop a strong pipeline of business for the future and diligent in conducting market research to uncover new business opportunities for the organization.
  • Focus on enterprise level sales engagement for group sales.
  • Utilize Salesforce to develop and manage pipeline, opportunities, and sales cycles. Update Salesforce regularly to ensure all opportunities are up-to-date and are aligned with financial reports.
  • Active collaboration with global business development team to cross-sell regional assets, and to provide partners and sponsors with global opportunities.
  • Collaborate actively with regional and global marketing, project/program team members to offer insights and inputs into designing attractive value propositions.
  • Manage the fulfillment of exhibits, sponsorships, partnerships activities through liaising with relevant team members in the regions and head office as appropriate.
  • Active tracking and management of partners’ interests and commitments to ensure a winning partnership.
  • Support the Managing Director on strategic business development activities including research and preparation of proposals, agreements etc. to develop strategic channel partners.
  • Manage fulfilment of strategic channel partners’ and strategic alliances’ agreements.
  • Build and maintain a strong and healthy database of clients.
  • Liaise with head office on invoicing, payment receivables etc.

What Does Success Look Like?

  • PCMA will be the go-to brand by priority audiences in the APAC region for business events networking and commerce opportunities.
  • The APAC business and team are financially self-sustaining through regionally generated revenue streams. The financial goals and percentage of your PCMA performance will be a part of overall performance metric.
  • A collaborative relationship with global business development teams that results in partners and sponsors from other regions investing into APAC programs.
