We are currently hiring an Accounting Supervisor in Charlotte NC! This position will be supporting the JournalBooks brand of PCNA.
This position is hybrid/onsite with requirements for both onsite work as well as capabilities to work remote. Candidates for this role must be commutable to the JournalBooks office in Charlotte, NC.
What will you do in this role?
- Oversee the month-end close process, including coordination of close meetings, post-close follow-ups, and ensuring timely and accurate financial data entry into Consolidation Software.
- Review, analyze, and adjust accounting entries as necessary to maintain compliance with established accounting policies.
- Manage the calculation, tracking, accounting, and payment of contractual obligations such as rebates, royalties, etc.
- Coordinate treasury forecasts and reporting, consolidating operating cash flow across multiple entities and comparing results against actuals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Support leadership in recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and motivating team members.
- Supervise and guide staff accountants, coordinators, accounts payable, and collections teams to ensure accurate transaction processing, financial reporting, and statement preparation.
- Prepare and distribute required periodic financial reports.
- Oversee and validate account reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Monitor and facilitate the preparation of financial data for annual and interim audits.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts throughout the fiscal year.
- Ensure accurate and compliant financial statement preparation for both internal and external stakeholders in accordance with US GAAP.
- Participate in special projects and other assigned duties as needed.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting,
- At least four (4) years of experience in a finance or accounting position with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Prior experience with automated financial, accounting and reporting systems
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in teams to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple projects.
- Thorough knowledge of daily financial and accounting operations with a strong sense of urgency.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and business needs.
- Strong delegation and leadership capabilities.
