Who You Are
As a Digital Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our state-of-the-art Canon varioPrint iX inkjet and Ricoh C9500 presses. In addition to operating the digital press, the ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of the direct mail process. The best candidate for this position will be willing and able to perform multiple functions and be able to work independently in a print manufacturing environment. Experience with performing bindery operations along with the willingness and ability to operate a box truck would be a plus. What You'll Do
- Operate digital printing equipment.
- Set up and configure printing machines to ensure accurate color reproduction and print quality.
- Load and unload paper and other printing materials.
- Monitor print jobs to ensure they are running smoothly and adjust as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on digital presses to keep them in optimal condition.
- Collaborate with the design and prepress team to ensure files are print-ready.
- Inspect printed materials for quality and accuracy.
- Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Sort and pack finished pieces for direct mail distribution based on USPS requirements.
What You Bring
- Previous experience as a Digital Press Operator or Bindery Operator within the print industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating digital printing equipment and associated software.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for color accuracy and print quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to meet production deadlines.
