Shift: 3rd, 11:00pm-7:00am, Monday-Friday
Rate: $20.00-$23.00 (based on experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Injection Mold Technician (Foreman) to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
- Arrive a little before 11PM to receive an update from the 2nd shift Foreman, and then schedule each 3rd shift employee/Operator based on a priority list provided by the Production Manager.
- Make certain each job running has the necessary items (resin, inserts, cartons, etc.) and then perform periodic yet very basic quality checks throughout the night (most of the time just visual inspection, but making process corrections or shutting the press down if necessary).
- Complete shift paperwork (only a few sheets,) as well as answer/correct any machine alarms that may occur (running low on material, machine cycles varying outside of tolerance settings, etc.)
- Set up and operate injection molding machines according to production specifications.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Assemble and fabricate components using hand tools and CNC machinery as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of molded parts using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently throughout the production process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
Qualifications:
- Basic injection molding equipment and proper process adjustment ability is needed to be successful in this position.
- Delegation and leadership skills.
- Previous Foreman experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Previous experience in injection molding or related manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with lathe operations, plastics extrusion, and materials handling is a plus.
- Proficiency in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools effectively.
