What You'll Do as Carpenter II :
Installs, repairs, and / or replaces commercial door framing and doors, door hardware, door-lock mechanisms, cipher locks and auto-closuresInstalls, repairs, and / or replaces ceiling grid and tilesInstalls, repairs, and / or replaces various commercial flooring types, to include carpet squares, VCT, linoleum, ceramic tile, floating floors, and various types of trimInvestigates and locates leaks and potential leaks in various types of roofing then determine and potentially perform appropriate repairs. The ability to accomplish maintenance, repairs to ground, exterior structures, buildings, and related fixtures and utilities requiring the use of various trades practices associated with the occupation such as general laborer, carpentry, plumbing, cement work, painting, and other related tradesInstalls, repairs, and / or replaces drywall to include taping, mudding, painting, texturing and caulkingPerforms minor glass repair to include rubber and wet glazingFabricates concrete forms to perform minor repairsRemoves, replaces, and / or installs cabinetry and countersSupports other crafts / trades as required, and supports planning / estimating of jobsMust adhere to industry and site-specific safety standards / requirements plan, assists in material handling, equipment usage, and operates general construction equipment on siteMust be able to climb ladders to gain access to roofs and equipmentAbility to erect various types of scaffolding and operate various types of man-lifts highly desiredMust be able to manage a project from start to finish to stay within established timeframeAbility to perform metal lath and plaster work is desirablePerforms other duties as assignedOperates a company-owned vehicle (and cellular telephone) to transport self and others in performance of assigned duties; performs operator maintenance as required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
What You'll Need to Be Successful :
High school diploma or equivalent and Journeyman License requiredSuccessfully pass pre-employment drug / alcohol screen, background check, and motor vehicle reportMust have a valid state Driver's License.Able to effectively speak, read, and write the English language.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Able to read and understand / interpret blueprints and drawings to complete a variety of projects instructions using a variety of trade hand tools, portable power tools, standard measuring devices, and standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work and selecting necessary materials for the workMust possess analytical skills, with the ability to read, interpret, and develop statistical reports, drawings, and calculations and be able to interpret policies, procedures, and regulationsAttention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent written and oral communication skillsOther Requirements :
