Job Description : Material Handler (Contract)
Location : Columbus, MS
Hourly Rate : 18 per hour
Position Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team on a contract basis. The Material Handler will be responsible for managing the flow of materials, ensuring proper delivery, and maintaining accurate documentation. This role involves working closely with delivery trucks, warehouse operations, and production line teams to support efficient logistics and material handling processes.
Key Responsibilities :
Receiving and Inspection :
Welcome delivery trucks and oversee unloading activities in logistics or production areas.
Inspect parcels for physical damage and manage non-conformities as needed.
Verify accompanying documentation matches product type, batch, and warehouse location.
Storage and Organization :
Ensure all materials are accurately labeled with associated documentation, including "Goods Receipt" slips.
Store products according to specified conditions, ensuring compatibility and avoiding storage conflicts.
Prevent damage by adhering to handling protocols, such as avoiding metal-to-metal or metal-to-floor contact.
Inventory Management :
Conduct visual checks on collected products and ensure proper identification within the storage area.
Maintain accurate records of material handling activities and storage conditions.
Compliance and Safety :
Follow company standards for material handling, ensuring safety and compliance with established protocols.
Protect stored products by adhering to proper handling techniques and environmental requirements.
Qualifications :
Prior experience of 2 years in material handling, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation accurately.
Familiarity with storage and handling practices for various product types.
Ability to lift and move materials safely and efficiently.
Excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and / or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies : 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license. .
Pay Details : 18.00 per hour
