Role
PDW is seeking a UAS Technician to join our team, contributing to the evaluation, repair, and rebuilding of unmanned drones in support of our production and mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate will thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, have excellent critical thinking skills, and will play a pivotal role in ensuring consistency, performance, and mission readiness of returned drone systems.
Responsibilities
- Receive and document returned customer property (aircraft, systems, and support equipment) in accordance with PDW’s RMA process.
- Participate in departmental meetings supporting daily production and repair activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams such as engineering, procurement, and planning.
- Assist in evaluating returned systems and recommend repair actions.
- Accurately maintain and update RMA case records in Salesforce.
- Use voltmeters, soldering irons, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair electronics as needed.
- Apply knowledge of basic electronics and circuit troubleshooting.
- Operate within both Windows and Linux environments for software-related tasks.
- Support cross-functional PDW initiatives including customer-facing activities.
- Be flexible with duty changes or shift adjustments to meet team needs.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience building and maintaining UAV aircraft and components.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-first attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and non-conformance reporting (NCR).
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Understanding of procedures and the ability to follow them precisely.
- Experience with Salesforce, SharePoint, or Jira preferred.
- FAA Part 107 certification or experience flying FPV drones is a plus.
ITAR Requirement
In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
