Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Payroll & Benefits Manager plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our comprehensive total rewards program. This position ensures that our team members are paid timely and accurately and that PEAC’s compensation, benefits, wellness initiatives, and recognition programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitate and support audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identify and recommend updates to payroll systems and procedures.
- Manage the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to benefit offerings to attract and retain top talent.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits.
- Develop and implement wellness initiatives aimed at improving employee well-being and productivity.
- Monitor the effectiveness of wellness programs and recommend improvements; analyze data to identify trends and provide recommendations.
- Maintain and monitor performance with benefits brokers and vendors, ensuring they meet service level agreements and addressing any issues that arise.
- Oversee the planning and execution of the annual benefits open enrollment, including communication, training, and coordination with vendors.
- Develop and maintain metrics and reports related to total rewards, including compensation, benefits, and employee satisfaction.
- Partner with the Vice President of Human Resources in planning and executing the annual review cycle, including merit increases, promotions, corporate bonus accruals, and payout calculations.
- Ensure all total rewards programs comply with applicable laws and regulations, including FLSA, ERISA, ACA, and others.
- Provide training and support to managers and employees on compensation and benefits topics.
- Create and maintain documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to payroll and benefits processes.
