What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Head Start Teacher - Toddler classroom position at PEACE, Inc. - Head Start program?
SCHEDULE:
Weekdays 7:30am to 3:30pm, with paid holidays including the Thanksgiving, December, February and April school breaks, plus additional accumulated paid leave.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED, plus either an Infant & Toddler Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or college degree in a field related to Early Childhood Education or equivalent education.
- Requires at least one year of specific training and/or experience with children between 18 and 36 months of age in a group setting.
- Basic computer skills required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, learning environment for up to eight children between 18 months and 3 years old, working alongside two other classroom team members.
2. Advance physical and intellectual competence: Provide activities and opportunities that promote physical development and encourage communication, curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.
3. Support social and emotional development and provide positive guidance through attachment, initiative, self-regulation and positive guidance.
4. Establish positive and engaging relationships with families of enrolled children.
