Summary
As a Community Assistant at Peace of Mind of Duluth, Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities by supporting a team of Direct Support Professionals and Community staff. This position is essential to our mission of fostering independence and enhancing the quality of life for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Meet and greet with team members & individuals
- Planning & Hosting events
- Asking person centered questions to incorporate in 245D paperwork
- Cooking with individuals
- Communicating with team members about upcoming events and mandatory trainings
- Updating team training folders
- Uploading and keeping documentation in team member Dropbox including focus sheet
- Review CDS lessons with new staff & when trainings are added to each team member's lessons
- Picking up team member of the month gifts / treats
- Help prepare team member of the month facebook posts
- Communicating with team members / individuals via google voice
- CPR training
- Triage Google Voice communications
- Assist with scheduling
- Helping to take individuals to some appointments, when some team members are not able to
Qualifications
- Familiarity with care plans and long-term care principles is beneficial.
- Understanding of resident rights and advocacy for individuals with disabilities is crucial.
- Ability to lift or assist individuals as needed while following safety guidelines.
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Compassionate demeanor with strong communication skills.
- 245D knowledge is beneficial.
