DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR


The Development Director will be a key leadership role within Peace Peloton, responsible for driving the financial growth necessary to support the organization’s expanding programs, initiatives, and staff capacity. This position will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure diverse revenue streams, enabling Peace Peloton to further its mission of supporting Black-owned businesses and fostering economic equity. This role requires a visionary, strategic leader with a proven track record in fundraising, donor relations, and partnership building. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, with a strong ability to manage multiple fundraising channels and foster relationships that advance the organization’s mission.


KEY RESPONSIBILIIES

  • Fundraising Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, encompassing grant writing, corporate partnerships, major donor cultivation, annual campaigns, and events, ensuring sustainable financial growth for Peace Peloton.
  • Grant Writing and Management: Research, write, and submit grant applications to foundations, government agencies, and corporate partners. Oversee the full grant lifecycle, including reporting and donor stewardship.
  • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation representatives. Create personalized engagement strategies for major donors to deepen their involvement and investment in Peace Peloton.
  • Revenue Diversification: Expand Peace Peloton’s revenue streams by identifying new opportunities for funding, including sponsorships, philanthropic partnerships, and innovative fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborative Program Support: Assess funding needs for ongoing and new programs, aligning fundraising efforts with organizational goals and ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the community, including local businesses, nonprofit partners, and government agencies, to enhance visibility and financial support for Peace Peloton’s mission.
  • Campaign Management: Lead the planning and execution of annual fundraising campaigns, special events, and community engagement initiatives to boost donor participation and expand Peace Peloton’s supporter base.
  • Data-Driven Fundraising: Analyze fundraising performance using donor management software and tools. Track key metrics, generate reports, and continuously optimize strategies to meet and exceed fundraising goals.
  • Board Engagement: Work closely with the board of directors to activate their networks and support the organization’s fundraising efforts.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related roles, with a proven track record of securing significant financial support from multiple revenue streams.
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing, with a history of winning competitive grants from
  • foundations and government sources.
  • Experience cultivating and maintaining major donor relationships and securing corporate sponsorships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate Peace Peloton’s mission and impact to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of donor management systems and tools, with proficiency in analyzing fundraising data and generating reports to guide decision-making.
  • A passion for Peace Peloton’s mission of supporting Black-owned businesses and
  • promoting economic equity within the community.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and engage with multiple stakeholders, including board members, program managers, and community leaders.


The Development Director will be essential in ensuring Peace Peloton’s financial sustainability, empowering the organization to expand its programs. By driving innovative fundraising efforts, this role will play a critical part in deepening Peace Peloton’s impact on economic justice and

community vitality.
