Position Overview:
The Director of Product Management will lead our client’s product management organization, overseeing a strategic portfolio of platforms. This role is pivotal in fostering collaboration between business stakeholders, technological experts, and executive leadership to develop comprehensive product roadmaps and advance Agile program evolution. The successful candidate will drive product management initiatives that align with organizational goals and improve overall business efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Product Management Leadership:
    Spearhead product management initiatives for strategic platforms such as CRM, digital self-service, data solutions, customer sales and service, and business automation.

  • Vision and Strategy Development:
    Own and articulate the vision, strategy, roadmap, and development plans for enterprise and business-line solutions to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Roadmap and Release Planning:
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business and engineering, to create and maintain product roadmaps and release schedules that meet stakeholder expectations.

  • Agile Planning Facilitation:
    Design and implement planning sessions and activities using Agile methodologies to drive product delivery.

  • Backlog Management:
    Develop and manage prioritized backlogs to ensure the continuous delivery of features and capabilities in alignment with business priorities.

  • IT PMO Resource Management:
    Oversee resources within the IT PMO, ensuring enterprise IT initiatives are synchronized with product development roadmaps and managing operational effectiveness.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Engage with executives, business leaders, functional stakeholders, engineering, and development teams to promote and advance product management initiatives.

  • Agile Center of Excellence:
    Lead the establishment of a Center of Excellence for Agile practices, enhancing the organization’s agility and product management maturity.

  • Strategic Alignment:
    Ensure that product management efforts are in alignment with the organization’s strategic plans, annual operating initiatives, and overarching business goals.

  • Team Leadership:
    Lead a team of technical product managers and product administrators responsible for managing the strategic platform portfolio and supporting business pillars including Sales, Service, Finance, People, and Customer Experience.

  • Team Dynamics and Collaboration:
    Foster a positive team environment through respectful interactions and active collaboration, driving the achievement of departmental and organizational goals.

  • Cultural Alignment:
    Embrace and promote the mission, vision, and values of AAA, inspiring team members to commit to these principles in their daily work.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Employee Development:
    Responsible for the professional growth of assigned employees by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and coaching while maintaining a high level of service to internal and external customers.

  • Performance Management:
    Monitor and evaluate employee job performance, ensuring constructive feedback and effective implementation of change processes as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in product management, demonstrating a robust understanding of product development processes.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Familiarity with SaaS and cloud-based solutions is highly desirable.
  • Practical experience managing two or more product areas, including consumer-focused digital solutions, business automation, CRM, data solutions, and customer experience.
  • Experience with the Salesforce ecosystem.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert understanding of product management principles focusing on strategic platforms such as CRM, digital self-service, and business automation.
  • Proficient in the Scaled Agile Framework, with the ability to effectively facilitate Agile planning sessions.
  • Exceptional leadership and management capabilities with a proven history of engaging cross-functional teams and executive leaders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate productive interactions with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving the continuous alignment of delivered features with strategic objectives and business goals.
