Job Description
Position: Route Driver/Shop Worker
Basic Function:
This position delivers product and services to our customer on a daily basis.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Driving in Company vehicle to satisfy customer with product
- Delivering of salt to customers. Carrying 40# bags (sometimes 50# bags) of salt to a location the customer desires (usually brine tank).
- Changing the customers prefilter to help maintain a softener system
- Delivering of water to customers. Carrying 3 gallon and up to 5 gallon bottles to a location the customer desires (usually cooler).
- Cleaning of the company vehicle
- Sweeping as needed
- Possible Cooler Disinfection if time permits
- Possible cleaning of brine tanks if time permits
- Maintaining communication with customers*
- Loading and unloading of the route truck daily*
- Taking out trash and cardboard
- Ability to account for monetary customer payments
- Daily completion of a Truck Checklist
- Other duties as assigned
Principal Interactions:
Inside Company - Management
Outside company – Customers
Knowledge/Education requirements:
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to lift and carry up to 80 #
Ability to use handheld device for route
Ability to learn safety courses/training as necessary
Level of Authority:
No supervisory responsibilities
Reports to:
Service Manager
Customer Service Manager
General Hours:
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Some overtime is necessary.
