Summary/Objective
The Accounting Clerk & Payroll person will be responsible for tasks that involve bookkeeping, payroll, all accounting functions and the resolution of discepancies, as well as, developing policies, directing and coordinating human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, and benefits.
Essential Functions
As the Accounting Clerk & Payroll person at Peak Performance, Inc., you will play a crucial role in managing both financial and human resources functions within the company. You will be responsible for overseeing bookkeeping, payroll, accounting tasks, as well as developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
-Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable
-Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
-Conduct reconciliations and resolve any financial descrepancies.
-Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
-Coordinate employee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
-Administer employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with regulations
-Assist with labor relations and compliance with employment laws
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This position is not a remote work position. However short term, temporary remote work may be approved by manager due to extenuating circumstances.
Travel
Occasional travel required.
Required Education and Experience
Experience and strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and bookkeeping. Familiarity with Human Resources functions such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration and payroll processing.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Quick Books Online is essential. Knowledge and experience of accrual-based accounting.
- Experience processing payroll and working with payroll processing systems. Knowledge of Gusto preferred.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards.
- Highly organized; to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.
- Accuracy and attention to detail in ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining records and processing payroll. Able to maintain accurate and consistent document/record processing and keeping.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, handle confidential information and maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
