Position Title: SQT Trainer I

Pay Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
Essential Functions

The SQT Trainer I participates in and conducts heavy equipment operator training programs. Will identify and facilitate training objectives, and write training programs, including facilitator guides, participant guides, pre- and post-assessments, and any supporting media. The SQT Trainer I ensures that all employees are safe from dangers and are educated well on handling safety concerns and problems. Alongside this, the SQT Trainer properly educates and informs all company employees on the company's safety protocols and procedures. Conducts Fitter training to train employees. It is the safety trainer's responsibility to work closely with the Training Manager on how they will be able to conduct and enforce safety program throughout their organization.

Roles And Responsibilities
- Prepares and maintains facilitator materials, session plans, visual aids, and handouts for training sessions.
- Conducts safety training for employees upon hire and on a periodical schedule.
- Conducts Fitter training for employees.
- Interprets and enforces health and safety programs to drive continuous improvement and a culture consistent with your company values.
- Coordinates with supervisors and employees to ensure that proper safety programs and training are implemented.
- Coordinates with the Training Manager to design training materials and courses.
- Evaluates and modify existing training solutions, techniques, and materials.
- Communicates and represents the organization to clients, the public, the government, and other external sources.
- Maintains user accounts in third-party databases.
- Conducts driving evaluations in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Schedule and provides Operator Qualification training for new hires, and current employees on an as needed basis.
- Conducts knowledge and performance post training field evaluations as needed.
- Track all Operator’s Qualifications using a 3rd party database.
- Administers employee record systems to include quality audits, operator qualification training, safety and quality training and maintenance of employee records.
- Performs routine filing, scanning, and archiving of records to ensure record retention compliance.
- Prepares statistical data and compiles reports (internal and external reports) on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis; maintains other records, reports, and logs pertaining to SQT programs.
- Follows and promotes all safety procedures.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of MS Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
- Skilled at working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Skilled at developing and maintaining good working relationships with employees and Front-Line Supervisors.
- Ability to conduct training protocols by description based on safety, quality, and health programs, procedures, and practices consistent with OSHA, DOT, insurance carriers, Track, and customer requirements.
- Ability to enforce audit protocols for safety and quality programs.
- Ability to re-enforce a safety culture based upon modifying behaviors, including methods of improvement related to behavior-based safety, near-miss management, quality, claims review, post-accident investigation, and adverse employee behavioral patterns.
- Ability to train and audit complex regulations, technologies, management systems, and programs.
- Ability to enforce safety and health programs, procedures, and practices consistent with OSHA, DOT, insurance carriers, and customer requirements.
- Communicates well with students, other instructors, and supervisors.
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- Two (2 ) plus years of experience as a Safety Trainer is preferred.
- Experience in the utility industry is preferred. Experience working with underground utilities desired.
- Two (2 ) plus years of administrative experience in the training or safety field.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
- Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
