This team collaborates directly with traders to identify, develop and validate new signals as well as sourcing commodity datasets from vendors. You’ll report to our Director, Engineering. This role can be based out of our Chicago or New York City offices.You’ll be responsible for : Working hand in hand with Product Managers to help write User Stories and fuel discovery for the teamSetting team expectations including performance metrics and holding members accountable to those expectations while making adjustments as necessary.Encouraging the team to continuously invest in their delivery process to remove friction and increase developer experience.Collaborating with staff engineers and architects to define technical standards and directionIdentifying and removing bottlenecks as well as connecting engineers across teamsPrimary driver of career development of team members including mentoring junior engineers, aligning opportunities to engineers to make cases for promotions and continuously giving feedback.Supporting team’s current delivery of working software, while balancing time by also collaborating with product managers and traders to prepare the backlog of upcoming projects / YOUR EXPERIENCEBachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldStrong technical credentials, with at least 3-5 years’ experience managing software development teams, ideally with some hands-on architectural or distributed systems experienceTechnical hands-on coding background, preferably with Java, Python, or GoLang.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including executives and non-technical leadersUnderstanding of agile practices and ability to enforce them in variable team size settingsFamiliarity with a wide range of engineering practices such as iterative development, continuous integration and delivery or resilience engineering.Curiosity and eagerness to explore both quantitative and qualitative data to drive continuous improvement at the team and organization levels.Does our Engineering DNA Match yours?   We collaborate in cross-functional, agile teams to learn and develop innovative technology We like to develop impactful features fast so we can share directly with our end-users and iterate quickly  We’re focused on well-defined software delivery and continuous learning  People are everything and our support for each other is abundant We are motivated by solving business problems and encourage entrepreneurial thinking from everyone in the organization.Whether you’re new to our tech stack or an expert, we encourage each team member to experiment with new technologies and take ownership of projects.   We love to have fun and dedicate time to exploring new technologies and ideas through Tech Days and Hackathons#LI-P6OUR REWARDSWe offer a robust package of employee perks and benefits, including healthcare benefits (medical, dental and vision, EAP), competitive PTO, 401k match, parental leave, and HSA contribution match.
