YOUR IMPACT
As an OSP Inspector, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and quality of the client’s network infrastructure. Your inspections and documentation will ensure that all underground, buried, and aerial plant facilities meet regulatory and client standards. By identifying issues, guiding corrective actions, and collaborating with both client and vendor teams, you will help drive project success, network reliability, and service excellence. Your contributions directly support safe and efficient construction practices, protect company assets, and ensure timely project completion.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all client underground, buried, and aerial plant facilities comply with current standards through field inspections and verification of contractor work.
Perform audits, inspections, and pole transfers; document findings electronically and, when needed, manually using printed spreadsheets.
Utilize mapping/GPS technology to locate and verify plant infrastructure.
Communicate effectively via email and cellular phone with client and vendor management.
Interface with construction crews, vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure project expectations are met.
Travel to field sites as needed; some overnight stays required.
Maintain records of all inspections, audits, and corrective actions performed.
Mileage will be reimbursed for travel in accordance with company policy.
CORE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience performing NESC inspections or working on an aerial cable line crew.
- Experience conducting wooden pole ground line inspections.
- Proficiency in OSP Construction Standards and working knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with mapping tools such as Microsoft MapPoint (preferred, not required).
- Comfortable with internet use and web-based applications.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Experience in managing construction contractors in the field.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel on short notice.
