Security Associate (Full-time) 3rd Shift 10PM-6AM

The Security Associate is responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, customers and guests.

 Essential Functions 

· Conduct excellent guest service by providing direction or offering assistance in a proactive manner 

· Provide a visual security presence 

· Conduct thorough patrols by bicycle, on foot, or occasionally by golf cart 

· Make regular security checks of doors, windows, gates, mechanical rooms, fire exits as requested by the client or to guard against trespassers or unauthorized entry 

· Respond to alarms and react according to protocol 

· Contact police, fire department or EMS as needed; support external services upon arrival

· Assist in evacuations as emergency conditions dictate 

· Engage guests of rule or safety infractions 

· Engage in conflict de-escalation whenever possible 

· Report safety concerns or maintenance/repair needs 

· Write concise, accurate reports using proper format 

· Assist in crowd control as needed

Work Environment 

This position is mostly shiftwork that is outdoors on a 24-hour
 basis, year-round. There is significant exposure to people, to include some that can be discourteous or
 intoxicated. There may be exposure to potentially hazardous situations, such as responding to fire or burglar
 alarms.   

Physical Demands 

This position requires significant physical movement, to include
 walking, running, riding a bicycle, lifting items up to 50 pounds, climbing,
 stooping, pivoting. It may include riding
 a bicycle, standing or sitting for long periods of time. Specific abilities required by this job
 include visual acuity, speech and hearing; and eye coordination and
 manual dexterity to handle radio and basic office equipment. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position consisting mostly of 8-hour shifts. The shifts are staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, including
 weekends and holidays.  

Standard shifts are (6am-2pm or 7am-3pm), (2pm-10pm or 3pm-11pm), (10pm-6am or 11pm-7am). 

Attempts will be made to place associates on their shift of preference.  Attempts will also be made to have consistency in their days off each week.  

Required Education and Experience 

High school diploma or equivalent. 

State of Texas Level
 II non-Commissioned Officer certification is helpful but not required.
