Position Summary:
Product development and innovation projects, project management, and customer support. Due to the distribution of workloads throughout the company, a significant amount of time is also spent as an engineering resource and technical support for various departments
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides miscellaneous engineering support/services to other departments and provides computer technical support on design software.
- Performs customer field service visits and system start up; provides customer technical support services.
- Performs preliminary and advanced work in development of working layouts and final drawings for new products and improved designs of existing products; oversees projects from inception through fabrication including FEA on equipment designs.
- Reviews new orders; reviews approval/certified prints, and manages projects.
- Reviews project instructions and specifications to identify, modify, and plan requirements for fabrication, assembly and testing.
- Designs and inspects Hydraulic Power Units, working with vendors during the fabrication process.
- Tests and evaluates component parts and records procedures, results, and recommendations.
- Recommends changes in design, methods of fabrication, and drafting techniques and procedures with various departments and coordinates changes.
- Assists/fills in for other employees/departments as needed.
- Continues education via training courses, technical journals/seminars as availability and resources permit.
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components and the ability to design/implement such systems.
- Knowledge of computer hardware/sofware installation and operation inclusive of Microsoft Office products, CAD packages, and various others as required.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits/devices and the ability to build such circuits/devices to achieve a desired result for both customer implementation and internal use.
- Ability to design test setups to determine desired results via scientific method.
- Mechanical aptitude required.
Preferred Work Experience & Education:
2-5 years comparable engineering experience in a similar industry. Work experience with 2D & 3D CAD required.
Bachelors in related engineering discipline and/or a combination of equivalent education, work experience, and intellectual instruction.
