What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steel Fabricator position at PEC?
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling structural steel components for various projects. A strong understanding of fabrication techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, drill, and prepare steel components according to project requirements.
- Operate fabrication tools and machinery, including saws, torches, grinders, and welding equipment.
- Fit and assemble structural steel pieces using tack welding, bolting, and other methods.
- Verify dimensions and alignment of parts using measuring instruments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure quality and timely completion of projects.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in structural steel fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.
- Proficient in MIG and/or Stick welding (certifications a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Reliable transportation and good attendance record.
