Job Summary:
The Crew Leader II will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor of our precast concrete plant. This role involves supervising a team, ensuring that all production processes run smoothly, and coordinating with the plant management to meet production goals. The Crew Leader II will be key in ensuring that safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained during all stages of production.
Essential Functions:
- Protect family and friends. Enforce safety protocols and best practices on the production floor. Ensure that employees are properly trained on safety procedures and are using equipment safely and correctly.
- Dedication. Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the production crew, ensuring efficient operations in the
- Committed to serve. Lead, train, and motivate production staff, ensuring that team members are working effectively and safely. Provide guidance on technical processes and quality control procedures.
- Respect and engage. Collaborate with the Plant Manager to develop and implement pour schedules to meet production deadlines and ensure smooth workflow. Adjust schedules as needed based on production demands or challenges.
- Innovation. Assist in identifying areas for improvement in production processes and collaborate on solutions to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Results matter. Ensure that production standards are met by monitoring the work, inspecting products, and ensuring adherence to specifications. Address any quality issues promptly and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Efficiency. Ensure that all necessary materials and tools are available for production. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of machinery and equipment, reporting any issues to maintenance teams.
- Communicate. Regularly communicate with the Plant Manager and other supervisors to provide updates on production progress, any potential delays, and any issues requiring attention.
Requirements, Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or vocational training in manufacturing or construction-related fields is a plus).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in precast concrete production, is preferred but not required.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Basic understanding of production processes, scheduling, and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to ensuring a safe working environment.

Travel:
Position may require up to 5% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works in varying weather conditions as well as on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
