This is an independent role where you will be responsible for the delivery of Pedalheads programs within the region and ensuring that all safety and quality standards are being met.Your ResponsibilitiesThe City Manager will be based out of a home-office. You will also work collaboratively with others in the organization such as Operations, Marketing, Customer Care, Training and People & Culture.In addition to sharing your ideas on how we can grow, learn and build in this role, you’ll also be : Camp OperationsLeads and supervises summer camp staff by providing mentorship and motivation on-site and supporting the Site Leadership teams at each locationBuilds and maintains positive relationships with camp leaders and instructorsSupports Site Leadership with the resolution of employee or customer issuesEnsures that camp procedures and safety standards are being followed and upheldAssists with the training of camp staffEnsure smooth operations of 6-7 locations including but not limited to Boston, Belmont, Newton, Cambridge, Lexington and WellesleyRecruitment & TrainingRecruit, interview and hire the best Instructors, Supervisors and Site ManagersAssist with Instructor and Site Leader training sessionsPromotionsWork collaboratively with the Marketing Department to promote the program within local communities, at events, school presentations, etc.Build strong relationships with communities where our camps are locatedCustomer ServiceAlways willing to go the extra mile to engage customers and provide excellent customer serviceRespond to customer complaints in a timely and professional manner, always aiming to provide an appropriate solution and ensure resolutionReview customer surveys on a weekly basis and connect with all unsatisfied customers to rectify the problem and turn their experience into a positive oneWhat does success look like?By March of 2025, you will have completed the rebuild and organization of camp related equipment to the standard that it could delivered to a site the following dayBy March of 2025, you will have engaged with 15 schools or partners to generate awareness of Pedalheads as an employer of choice for summer jobsBy March of 2025, you will have researched neighborhoods and secured 6-8 sites in the greater Boston area to execute Summer Bike CampsYou will have created 5 strategic partnerships with local elementary schools or related care facilities to advertise our programming and collected 1,000 emails of interested familiesSkills, Knowledge and ExperienceWe believe that a great team is built on a collection of skills, knowledge and experiences and we consider all of this when we review your application : Relationship Builder – builds and preserves trusting relationships with site leaders, instructors, colleagues, customers and hiring resourcesPassionate and collaborative – participates and represents the company brand proudlyWork ethic – self-motivated, works continuously towards successful outcomesMentorship – able to develop and motivate employeesLeadership - a mature and dynamic leader who is enthusiastic and brings a positive energyResponsible - takes initiative and takes charge of situationsOrganizer and planner – plans, organizes, schedules, and budgets efficiently and productivelyFlexibility / adaptability – adjusts quickly to changing situations; copes effectively with complexity and change; able to work occasional evening and weekendsTeam Player - has excellent verbal communication and collaboration skills and can work with all levels and functional areas of an organizationFun – understands the importance of team bonding and creates and open and social workspaceA minimum of 2 years management experience at a supervisory level or aboveOrganizing and instructing experience with children of all ages, preferably in a camp or sporting environmentStrong communications skills (with both kids and adults)Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact and build strong relationships with individuals at all levelsA mature and dynamic leader who is enthusiastic and who brings a positive energyMust have reliable transportation and be able to travel within area of responsibilityAssetsAn undergraduate degree in business, operations, management, or recreationExperience working in recreation, children’s programming, sport management, or hospitalityExperience with ADP Workforce Now, scheduling, approving hoursExperience delivering training sessions to youth (18-24)Experience in prospecting and / or salesPrevious experience with camp managementDirect reportsThe City Manager, Boston is responsible for managing, seasonal site support and site leadership teams for their region.Pay and PerksThis is a Full-Time year round position. The ideal start date is mid to late February. The successful candidate will be paid an annualized salary of $52,000 to $62,000, commensurate with experience, based on a 40-hour work week.
