GENERAL PURPOSE
Pedes Orange County is a vascular practice and surgery center that fosters a collegial environment focused on providing top-notch care to patients throughout Orange County, CA. We offer competitive pay, flexible work hours, and a work environment that attracts staff from many different backgrounds. We are looking for a motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. This is a full time position Monday thru Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive
- Position Summary: Assist and support the clinical care team members with the delivery of patient care in accordance to the Medical Assistant scope of practice
- Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies
- Follow standard work for patient care processes
- Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow, rooms stocked with adequate supplies
- Ensure all related reports and information are available in the Electronic Health Record
- Maintenance of all logs and required checks
- Provide instructions to patients as ordered/instructed by Provider
- Implement orders and teaching plan components as directed by Provider and licensed care team member(s)
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely; reflecting patients plan of care
- Demonstrate continued development of clinical expertise, current knowledge of healthcare trends, and education related to clinical ambulatory practice
- Perform any additional or miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required)
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Graduate from an Accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current CPR card OR willing to obtain in 30 days
- 1 year experience working as an MA. Vascular experience preferred
- Blood draw/venipuncture
- Reliable transportation
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position
- Ability to read, speak, and write English with clarity of expression sufficient to communicate technical and complex concepts of teammates, patients, and patient family members in clear and easily understandable terms required
- Ability to understand clinical/medical vocabulary written or spoken in English required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical requirements can vary. These must be reviewed with management. In general, the position requires the following physical activities:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 35 pounds un assisted; able to stand for extended periods of time and to perform repetitive stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, with some sitting; full range of body motions required to lift patients, wear a lead apron, and lift supplies
- Manual dexterity and ability to work rapidly required
- Ability to perform patient transfers and positioning of patients up to 200 pounds unassisted; seek assistance for any patient over 200 pounds
- Ability to lift and move patient transport devices
