Responsibilities:
Responsible for scheduling of back office nursing and medical assistant staff, implementing nursing staff policy, clinical routines, and ensuring training and compliance of other nursing/medical assistant personnel. Performs regular back office duties in conjunction with the supervisory role. Prepares evaluations for presentation to the Manager and Providers. Oversees supply and medical equipment purchases. Directly oversees back office personnel and functions.
DUTIES: in addition to the RN/LPN/MA job description the Clinical Lead also
- Manages back office staff
- Schedules nursing hours according to offices’ needs
- Completes evaluations of back office personnel in accordance with practice policy
- Ensures that all licenses, BLS, TB tests, immunizations, certifications, etc. are current for all staff
- Conduct back office staff meetings
- Interview and make recommendations for hiring back office personnel
- Train back office personnel
- Manages back office supplies
- Orders back office supplies as needed and review bills of lading for accuracy on receipt of medical supplies
- Supervises the monitoring of expiration dates of supplies and samples
- Check and calibrate back office equipment routinely and arrange for repairs or replacement as needed
- Manages back office clinical protocols
- Maintains nursing protocol manual
- Monitor quality assurance of back office routines
- Research new products and teach back office staff and providers regarding use
- Maintain and enforce infection and exposure control policy
- Establish, update and implement the OSHA regulations within the office, keep SDS sheets and hazardous drug lists up to date, keeping staff informed.
- Works closely with front desk staff to aid in appropriate scheduling and triage of patients (using license, protocols and/or provider oversight as appropriate)
- Supervises follow up (phone call/portal/appt) for patients via SCCN Emergency Department reports
- Works with providers to manage PCC EHR protocols
- In collaboration with practice manager, oversees overall clinic schedule templates and patient-care operations
- Manages office vaccines/Vaccine for Children Coordinator
- Maintain and implement Child Profile Immunization Recall
- Works with Island County Health Department and Child Profile to provide state supplied vaccines and reporting
- Order vaccines
- Ensures compliance with Vaccines for Children program
- Download thermometer information
- Monthly submission of temperature logs to DOH
- Ensure biannual calibration of thermometers
- Completes annual training required
- Ensures provider agreement with DOH renewal annually
JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the practice manager and the owners. Oversees all nursing staff. Acts as the bridge across front desk and nursing operations.
- Works in conjunction with practice manager to ensure compliance with Rural Health Designation requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical supervisory role
- Experience in Clinical office setting.
- Familiarity with pediatric patient care is a plus
LPN/RN active license state of Washington
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
