Job Description
All front desk employees are expected to know and perform all of the job responsibilities for each position. Each position has primary job responsibilities, but depending on the patient's needs and staffing issues, there will be times when everyone working the front desk will have to help each other with their primary job responsibilities. There are a few areas where everyone is responsible. It is everyone's responsibility to answer the phone and help, not just put the caller on hold.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create a customer-friendly environment
- Answer phones, referring calls to physicians or triage nurses as needed
- Retrieve messages from voice mail and greet patients.
- Schedule/cancel patient appointments
- Verify demographics and insurance information
- Register and check out all patients
- Collect co-payment; print receipt as needed (post charges and payments – if needed)
- Reconcile money collected and charges at the end of each shift
- Confirm appointment schedule
- File and/or upload letters, reports, doctor notes, and triage notes
- Print daily appointment lists
- Maintain supplies of all forms and office material
- Maintain waiting room, magazines, and toys for a generally tidy appearance
- Miscellaneous clerical and administrative duties as requested

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree; related work experience

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
