Assist in the day-to-day patient accounting functions of the Practice. Perform duties in accordance with current acceptable patient accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to pediatric health care operations.
Essential Tasks:
- Monitor and collect accounts receivables; balance accounts, reconcile statements and report delinquent accounts to Executive staff
- Execute billing and coding daily processes and oversee patient collections processes
- Assist in creating written policies and standardizing procedures for the revenue cycle management unit.
- Perform RCM processes in accordance with standard operating procedures and industry specific guidelines
- Participate in weekly RCM Team meetings
- Post and review payments received to patient's account.
- Prepare monthly financial statements to include accounts receivable and finalize monthly reconciliation reports, etc.
- Perform and confirm proper data entry on all patient charges and associated refunds
- Assist with the implementation of a new billing system, as appropriate
- Assist in preparing financial and statistical reports, as directed
- Assist in preparing and implementation of changes in our patient accounting system, as directed
- Responsible for generating patient statements and preparing for monthly mailouts
- Maintain billing and payment logs, as necessary or directed
- Responsible for Payer communications to ensure timely reimbursement and rates consistent with delegated/contractual rates
- Assist in preparing department budgets and monthly financial statements
- Perform additional duties as necessary or directed
Qualifications
- One Year of Pediatric Billing Experience
- One Year of Experience with Medicaid
- High School Diploma
- Certification in Billing & Coding
