Pediatric Speech Lab is looking for an experienced Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team!
Position Summary:
As an SLPA, you shall screen and provide services to children with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. This role shall collaborate with and be supervised by a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist.
- SLPA will be responsible for working 30-33 billable hours per week and 7-10 non billable hours per week.
- SLPA will be required to work 3 in-office & 2 telehealth days per week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Speech and Language support under supervision of a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist.
- Participate in ongoing trainings and screenings as required.
- Collect Therapy materials
- Assist with job-related administrative tasks as necessary
- Communicate progress and treatment plans effectively with Speech and Language Pathologist
- Prepare and collect Data during therapy
- Collaborate with speech and Language Pathologist abreast of changes or concerns.
- Communicate appropriately and effectively with colleagues and families, as needed
- Communicate effectively with managers and leaders, and external partners
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage difficult situations with patience, empathy, and calmness.
- Effective time management/multitasking skills.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, supervisors, and community members.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience working in speech pathology and a deep desire to work with children on the autism spectrum.
Education/Experience:
- SLPA license Required in Maryland
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automobile insurance, and a clean driving record are essential
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to complete training and exam upon hire
- Must successfully complete a federal and state background check
