What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Inspector position at Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority?
Responsibilities:
Monitors and inspects transportation services including operators, vehicles and facilities within assigned territory of transportation system. Aids as a liaison between passengers and PDRTA when necessary for community outreach and feedback.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).; two years experience as a bus operator or dispatcher, 1 year management experience.
- Proven experience in transportation operations
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using transportation management software and other relevant tools
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Other Requirements:
CDL preferred or must be willing to obtain Class B with Passenger Endorsement. In-house CDL training and testing available. Must pass a DOT physical exam and criminal background check. Must receive a negative result from a DOT pre-employment drug screen.
Starting Salary will be commensurate with years of experience and/or advanced educational degree.
