Global Commodity Manager

BASIC FUNCTION:

Kito Crosby is seeking a talented, passionate, and highly motivated Global Commodity Manager to join the team in Winona, Minnesota. This position is critical to partnering with the Director of Strategic Sourcing and other Commodity Managers to lead, influence, and implement improvements across strategic sourcing and operations processes. The role will focus on sourcing both imported products from overseas and domestic suppliers, utilizing JD Edwards, SAP, and other tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7 years of related business experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proven success in developing and executing sourcing strategies in a matrixed organization.
• Proficient in JD Edwards, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Superior analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.
• Skilled negotiator with expertise in contracts, pricing, and supplier agreements.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of driving long-term sourcing strategies with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to travel as needed to supplier locations and company facilities.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Global Commodity Manager will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies for direct and indirect spend, with an emphasis on supplier performance and cost management. Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:

• Develop and implement category strategies through structured project management.
• Lead the supplier selection process for both domestic and international sourcing.
• Track and analyze global commodity market trends to anticipate risks and opportunities.
• Work with internal teams on New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.

Supplier Management:

• Build and manage strong supplier relationships across multiple geographies.
• Act as the primary negotiator for all contracts and supplier agreements.
• Lead supplier performance management through detailed scorecards measuring on-time delivery, quality, and other key performance metrics.
• Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and risk mitigation.

Procurement Processes & Tools:

• Manage the RFP process, including structuring, data collection, analysis, negotiations, and implementation.
• Utilize JD Edwards and procurement analytics tools to influence stakeholders with data-driven insights.
• Establish and standardize tools and templates, including should-cost models, central cost tracking, RFP templates, and negotiation planners.
• Share best practices and cost benchmarks across teams and locations.

Data & Reporting:

• Conduct procurement analytics and generate reports to support decision-making.
• Track and communicate the financial impact of sourcing strategies on cost savings, cost avoidance, and other key metrics.
• Regularly present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Location and Position Requirements:

• This is an in-person role located at the Winona, Minnesota plant. Candidates are expected to report on-site daily.
• Collaborate with plant teams to drive make-versus-buy analyses and provide recommendations.
• Travel as needed to supplier and company facilities (estimated at 25-35%).
