PEG Construction Overview:

PEG Construction, established in 2021 as the In-house general contractor serving clients both inside and outside of PEG Companies. This unique concept allows PEG Construction to work side by side with the ownership team for greater control over staffing, scheduling and cost. PEG Construction delivers projects nationwide with an active presence in over 10 different states.

Responsibilities:

The Foreman helps oversees all activities on the construction site, including managing the safety, quality control, subcontractor manpower counts, and project closeout. The Foreman’s role onsite is to hold the subcontractors to the standard set by the Superintendent. He is part of the leadership team and is critical to the project’s performance.

This position will play a crucial role in:

  • Onsite management of the construction project from beginning to end including risk management, general work performance, quality, and overall progress
  • Help align all construction activities onsite to meet the expectations set in the coordination meetings producing project flow and accountability
  • Assist Superintendent in the completion of all onsite activities
  • Coach and influence all construction trades in safety and quality control processes
  • Proficient or willing to become proficient in Procore
  • Represents PEG Construction in a professional manner
  • Ability to easily grasp full understanding of project specifications and construction drawings to ensure project is built to the required building standards
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, change orders, safety standards, shop drawings, submittals and contract documents
  • Assumes responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment
  • Performs quality control punch list walks with subcontractors and keeping the Superintendent informed of subcontractor’s performance of assigned scheduled work
  • Help deliver a quality product within budget and on schedule

Management Responsibilities:

This position will report to onsite Superintendent. This position will assist in all aspects of the onsite construction process.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of previous construction experience demonstrating both ground up Multifamily / Hospitality and renovation buildout experience
  • Strong analytical/logical mind-set with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong people skills, demonstrating an ability to quickly gain the trust of others
  • Proactive approach to learning about changes within the industry
  • Track record of demonstrating problem solving techniques used to mitigate high stress environments
  • Ability to overcome obstacles while employing unique strategies to meet construction challenges
  • Ability to travel to jobsites as needed
  • Own transportation and hand tools
  • Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook
  • Working understanding of Procore or willingness to learn
  • Some travel may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at desk.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard and tolerate prolonged periods performing work using a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
