What are the responsibilities and job description for the General superintendent / Operations Manager position at PEI Contractors?
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Sitework / Public Work General Superintendent / Operations Manager to lead field operations, scheduling, and resource management for excavation, earthwork, and utility installation projects. The Operations Manager will collaborate with project managers, superintendents, to streamline operations, optimize resource allocation, and drive company success.
- Provide leadership to field crews and staff.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the field level project team and subcontractors and vendors.
- Overall management of all field personnel to achieve completion of the projects on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
- Ensure field teams have the necessary resources, tools, and information to perform their work effectively.
- Maintain project schedules, identifies, and solves problems.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
- Communicate with field superintendents and ensure that all team leaders or crew leaders are managing jobs as scheduled and discussing any issues, as necessary.
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities for all work .
- Enforce safe work practices and remedy job site hazards immediately.
- Collaborate with Project Manager and Superintendent to create and maintain daily crew work schedules.
- Ensure all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy and client safety policies and procedures.
- Have a clear understanding of client safety requirements and ensure that crews are equipped with the proper equipment and knowledge to adhere to those requirements.
- Track and complete fleet maintenance schedules and repairs, including regular inspections.
- Monitor project budgets, material costs, and labor hours to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of fleet vehicles.
- Responsible for all general maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment.
- General oversite of all field acoustical work in the territory.
- Overall responsibility for all acoustic equipment and maintenance.
- Collaborate with the sales team to build accurate job budgets and costs for all temporary field installations.
- Mentor and supply leadership to all aspects of field operations throughout the Rockies.
- Time management approval for all field level and hourly employees reporting to territory.
- Attend and plan meetings with current and potential customers as needed in the field.
Skills
- Operations Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years Operations Leadership/relevant work experience within Site Work & Public Work .
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
