Title: Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Assistant Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- Meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. (Must pass background screening)
- Must have the physical strength, agility, dexterity, acuity and mobility to perform job responsibilities.
- Must have the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred, or, High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Current ServSafe Certification.
- Such alternatives to the qualifications listed above or below as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Daily Rate of pay ranges from $145.08-$166.87
Additional supplement of $3,500-$6,500.00 per year based upon experience /years
8 hour work day and working 7 days more than scheduled student days (185 Days)
Reports to:
Superintendent or Designee, Child Nutrition Program Manager, Child Nutrition Program Director and School Administration.
Job Description: Carry out all duties related to job as assigned by supervisor
Supervises: Assist in supervision of Child Nutrition Program Employees.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Ability to communicate, understand verbal and written instructions.
- Able to perform simple math.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Be regular and punctual in attendance.
- Capable of being trained in safe food handling techniques.
- Maintain sanitation standards established in the HAACP program.
- Maintain safety standards.
- Cleans and maintains orderly, safe, and sanitary conditions in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Displays good personal grooming and appropriate dress for food service according to the Child Nutrition Program Handbook.
- Performs work in the Child Nutrition Program in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.
- Adequate physical mobility including, but not limited to, the ability to perform the below listed functions:
- Work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time.
- Lift and/or carry moderate weight daily (15-45 pounds).
- Walk, balance, bend, kneel, and reach.
- Exert adequate force to push/pull at least 40 pounds.
- Capable of working in an environment which may include, but not limited to, exposure to the following:
- Slippery surfaces.
- Prolonged periods with hands in water.
- Approved cleaning chemicals.
- Common food allergens.
- Extreme hot or cold temperatures.
- Capable of maintaining emotional control.
- Follows verbal and written instructions.
- Assists with basic food preparation and proper food storage.
- Follows recipes accurately.
- Prepares food as assigned according to the planned menu.
- Prepares service lines for meal time.
- Assumes responsibility for serving and replenishing menu items.
- Maintain food quality and appearance.
- Assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of foods.
- Remove garbage and trash as needed.
- Cashier using an approved POS System.
- Assumes responsibility for cash handling and counting.
- Receives, transports, and stores food deliveries appropriately.
- Maintains working knowledge of kitchen equipment.
- Properly care for equipment and material resources of the school system.
- Provides cordial and professional service while working cooperatively with others.
- Performs duties in a manner that will promote good public relations.
- Maintain proper and professional relationships with students, school system employees, and school visitors.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and in-service presentations relative to job functions.
- Assists in training and development of CNP Associates.
- Perform assigned job duties in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintains records as required by the Child Nutrition Program.
- Performs managerial duties in the absence of the Child Nutrition Program Manager.
- Adhere to all Board policies, school system rules, school system administrative procedures, and federal, state, and local laws.
- Report work absences and take leave in accordance with Board policies, school system rules, school system administrative procedures, and applicable law.
- Understands and complies with Pelham City Schools policies and procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality of work-related issues, records, and school related information.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school and/or workplace matters in accordance with federal and state law.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
