About the Position: The Pelham School District seeks an experienced special education teacher to instruct SEL students with disabilities and effectively oversee all aspects of their specialized educational programs. The successful candidate will have a firm understanding of the special education process and the ability to provide direct instruction that is researched-based and targeted to meet the specific needs of students in accordance with their individualized Education Plans (IEP). This teacher must be able to accurately assess each student's current level of performance, facilitate the development of appropriate, standards-based individual Educational Plans, and monitor student progress toward IEP goals and benchmarks/objectives. The ability to successfully collaborate with classroom teachers, and other memebers of IEP teams, and assertively problem-solve a range of educational challenges is essential. This professional must have outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to provide leadership in relation to data-based decisions and curricular adaptations in general education settings.
Qualifications: NH certification or statement of eligibility (SOE) in General Special Education (1900) is required; Emotional Disabilities endorsement is strongly preferred; other endorsements desirable. Working knowledge of and experience with NHESIS system also preferred.
What We Offer: This position is a full-time, school year position working 186 days per year. It is covered under our Pelham Education Association (PEA) collective bargaining agreement. Salary, benefits and additional association benefits are in accordance with our collective bargaining agreement which can be found on our website under Department, then Human Resources.
