This is a full-time year-round onsite position in Dennis Port, MA (off-season hybrid/remote considered).
Key Responsibilities
- Train, lead, and develop accounting team.
- Refine financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems specific to hospitality operations.
- Lead the month-end close process for hotel properties and holding entities.
- Prepare financial statements, variance analysis and performance reports across the hospitality group.
- Ensure monthly taxes (occupancy, meals & beverage, sales) are filed accurately and timely and work with the external accounting firm to provide year end package.
- Review and approve payroll and related bank transfers.
- Manage banking and cash flow, optimize working capital, and support operational budgeting processes.
- Oversee revenue recognition, cost management, and financial forecasting.
- Collaborate with the executive team and accounting team to provide financial analysis and guide financial decisions.
- Play a key role in hospitality and accounting systems, integrations, and enhancements (PMS, POS, ERP).
- Identify opportunities for automation, improved reporting, and operational efficiency.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience (5 years as a Controller or equivalent), preferably within the hospitality industry (hotels, resorts, or multi-property management companies).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis with the ability to identify trends and variances.
- A passion for hospitality and a proactive, solution-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both financial and non-financial personnel.
- Knowledge of hotel industry operations, including revenue management, cost control, and capital budgeting.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- A proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- QBO experience, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move around the resort for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
