Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly, offer advice and guidance regarding all Pelham Hospitality Properties. Security Officers will ensure all visitors or guests receive directions on how to reach their intended destinations.
- Patrol the properties to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and assets. Take the immediate and necessary steps to correct any safety hazards and cleanliness issues while responding to all hazards
- Assist guests with door locks using moderately complex hand-held electronic equipment.
- Identify and engage any suspicious person(s) who may interrupt the orderly operation of the properties while limiting liability.
- Maintain order in the hotel, dealing with the welfare of guests, e.g., assisting with door locks, coordinate, expedite response to emergency conditions such as fire or safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner.
- Handle undesired conduct, violations of hotel policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of hotel guests, employees, patrons, and property. Requires grasping, lifting and or carrying or otherwise moving persons, packages, luggage, wheelchairs, and safety equipment using manual dexterity of hands.
- Answer overnight telephone and respond in a timely manner based on priority.
- Escort guests and employees as required to parking lots, provide same for employees carrying house banks.
- Thorough knowledge of the layout of the building, function rooms, and some knowledge of the city and surrounding areas.
- Assist with guests requests (additional linens, additional sleeping accommodations, supplies) as related to requests for additional items and general guest room maintenance requests.
- This role requires assistance with guest and employee shuttle needs.
- This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests across multiple locations. Monitoring and response will happen across multiple locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license, and minimum of 4 years of driving experience.
- Must meet company required motor vehicle policy standards
- Have a guest focused posture and attitude.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the resort layout, activities, functions, fire and emergency disaster procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to efficiently and accurately communicate with other team members as well as guests.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Initiative and drive to maintain resort and Security Services department standards.
- Must be able to use good judgment when addressing a given problem, followed by creative solutions and the initiative to complete the work.
- Strong knowledge of standard safety protocols
