About the Position
We are seeking a part-time position as a Pro Shop Attendant, this position reports directly to the Racquets manager. You will be responsible for serving members and guests at the Foundation Racquet centers consistent with the Foundation’s mission, standard of service and goals. You will function as a sales associate for Pro-shop merchandise, and will be responsible for managing the cash register, charges, and closing at the end of the day.

What You'll Do
- Interact with guests, creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere.
- Take court, lesson and clinic reservations and check-ins.
- Take sign-ups and communicate information regarding unique events and leagues to members.
- Sign-up members for weekly round robins. Confirm players, coordinate pairings, and check player in on the day of the event.
- Sell pro-shop merchandise, be familiar with the merchandise in stock, as well as make suggestions, and promote any sale promotions.
- Assist members in finding available players for matches.
- Assist members with Chelsea, tennis reservation computer system.
- Operate cash register, makes change accurately, operates credit card terminal, and performs opening and closing procedures in accordance with tasks within a set period.
- Receive new retail merchandise, price merchandise and set-up display.
- Order as well as stock beverage coolers.
- Coordinate with outside lease court facilities and keep accurate court counts.
- Set-up and instruct members on the use of the Ball Machine.
- Clean and organize member deck areas.
- Order coffee supplies, as well as set-up and maintain coffee service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize mistakes and safety concerns.
- Count items for monthly inventory.
- Attend First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training – be able to perform as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Racquets Manager.
Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Ability to develop full knowledge of merchandise, tennis procedures, and policies.
- Exude a positive, well-mannered attitude, and demeanor with members and guests.
- Ability to read, write, do basic math, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend/stop/reach, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to multi-task on a regular basis.
Education
- Minimum high school diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Any combination of education, training, and work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.
