This position is located onsite in Covington, Louisiana for the remainder of the spring semester and summer.

Under the general and direct supervision of the HR Manager. Provides general administrative support for the Human Resources department with a focus on recruitment and file management efforts.

Essential Function Statements
Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork.
Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities.
Assist with scheduling and conducting new employee onboarding activities and orientations.
Assist with maintaining and updating human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms.
Assist the HR Manager with selecting qualified job applicants or refer them to managers
Review employment applications and job orders to match applicants with job requirements.
Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants.
Contact job applicants to inform them of the status of their applications.
Assist the HR Manager with developing and implementing recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.
Assist the HR Manager with analyzing employment-related data and preparing required reports.
Assist the HR Manager with auditing HR files.
Coordinate with outside staffing agencies to secure temporary employees, based on departmental needs.
Available as an employee resource to answer general questions concerning employee benefits.
Assist with HRIS management.
Complete special projects as assigned by HR Manager
Assist the HR Manager with department tasks assigned.

Skills & Abilities
Education :
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) : Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Qualifications :
A genuine interest in pursuing a career in HR, demonstrated through coursework, previous internship experience, or relevant HR-related activities
Knowledge of labor laws and regulations is preferred but not required
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain high ethical standards.
Available to work part-time during the spring semester with potential availability for a full-time role in the summer.
