What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consumer Credit Supervisor (Baton Rouge, LA) position at Pelican State Credit Union?
The role of the Consumer Credit Supervisor is to supervise the Credit Analysts and Credit Officers and working with their manager to ensure their team produces above-average industry standards on efficiencies, service, and profitability. Our ideal candidate has a positive, can-do attitude, is self-starting and problem-solving, and has a strong understanding of risk-based underwriting and risk-based practices.
A Day in the Life of a Consumer Credit Supervisor INCLUDES:
Ensuring loans are accurately underwritten based on the credit union’s mission.
Maintaining a thorough understanding and strong knowledge of all Credit Union products, product parameters, current loan promotions, services, procedures, and compliance regulations as applicable to job responsibilities.
Ensuring all consumer credit policies, guidelines, procedures, and products are up to date and meet federal and state regulations.
Working with the manager to ensure staff are trained and compliant.
Decision complex credit applications within established guidelines and credit authority.
Providing feedback to the manager regarding the performance of employees for the purpose of performance evaluations.
Continuously looking to improve the process and turn time while continuing to ensure quality decisions are being made.
Consumer Credit Supervisor Skills and qualifications include:
4 years of experience in consumer lending including loan analyst decisioning, reworking deals, and underwriting.
Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
Must have a strong understanding of risk-based underwriting and risk-based practices.
2-year college degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and complex graph software.
Ability to collect, analyze and interpret financial data.
