What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Service Representative - Mortgage Lending position at Pelican State Credit Union?
The role of the Mortgage Service Representative is to utilize mortgage knowledge to provide support to mortgage department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks related to mortgage loans. Collate, review, and verify a myriad of loan documents for accuracy for real estate transactions. Make sure that all servicing duties are completed on the various types of loans in the credit union portfolio. In addition, act as a liaison between the credit union and member regarding any type of mortgage loan information. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MORTGAGE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE INCLUDES:
- Make proactive calls to determine accounts requiring close attention, identifies problems, and works through to resolution
- Coordinate resolution for members with billing issues with collections and/or other departments
- Process a wide variety of member requests on mortgage loan accounts including application of payments, payoff quotes, account research, etc.
- Assist with processing re-amortizations, modifications, and escrow analysis requests
- Complete the satisfaction of mortgage document when loans are paid in full to ensure proper release of lien on collateral held
- Assist with the preparation and processing of escrow disbursements, including real estate taxes, homeowners’ insurance, PMI, and various other items monthly
- A high school education or GED
- 1 year of mortgage lending experience
- Mortgage servicing experience is preferred
- Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Travel
- Travel is rarely necessary for this position
