Job Title: Clinical Call Taker RN
Summary:
This position is responsible for taking live calls from clinic patients, providing over the phone assessment and triage through active listening and questioning. The incumbent will document all patient interactions in real-time, provide home care instructions based on established protocols, and schedule appointments or refer to providers as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Provide phone-based assessments and triage services to clinic patients
- Document patient interactions in real-time
- Provide home care instructions based on established protocols
- Schedule appointments or refer to providers as necessary
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current RN license in the state of Iowa
- 3 years of clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care setting preferred
- Superior nursing process skills and patient service drive
- American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Acute care and/or Home Health nursing experience for cardiac or diabetic patients
- Prior phone triage, ER triage, MD office triage, or combined Adult/Pediatric experience
- Membership in a professional organization or certification in a specialty
