Role and Responsibilities
The Admissions and Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for providing comprehensive support in admissions, registration, financial aid, and advising for non-degree seeking students. Responsibilities include application assistance, scheduling appointments, navigating MyPellissippi, and processing EVEA documents.
- Assist students/parents with all onboarding/enrollment questions, assessing their needs, and providing direct assistance to help them apply to Pellissippi State, enroll in classes, collect documents, and understand the appropriate forms and processes for all areas of Enrollment Services.
- Provide individual assistance to students, including analyzing and troubleshooting their needs, and assisting with online self-service accounts (viewing and changing their personal information, applying for financial aid: FAFSA, state aid, and scholarship applications, completing necessary requirements).
- Offer information to students, parents, staff, and the general public regarding enrollment and financial aid questions and/or requirements, including MyPellissippi navigation, transcripts, payments, advising, testing, orientation, secure document upload, alerts, and general information about the college and events.
- Collect, scan, download, and note completed financial aid documents via various electronic or non-electronic submissions.
- Work with each student holistically to create social belonging, build rapport, and establish the Start Strong mentality to increase student success and retention.
