Digger Bay Attendant

Position Prerequisites:

• High school graduate preferred.
• Cashier experience.
• Excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of resort.
• Ability to work with guests in all areas, with a positive approach.
• Ability to concentrate on detail and follow-up work while maintaining a high standard of guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work as a team.

Purpose:

 Service customers retail, small boat, fuel, and pump-out needs and ensure safe practices are followed. Receive funds for goods and services and record transactions via cash register.

Major Duties:

• Greet all customers as they enter your work area. Offer assistance immediately. Thank all customers as they leave the work area.
• It is all attendants’ responsibility to maintain a working knowledge of merchandise, boats, and services available.
• Accept cash or credit for payment, return proper change, and documentation of transaction.
• Complete credit card transactions and ring these sales accordingly in register.
• Orient customer on how to actually drive and operate the boat.
• Pre-check of boats and equipment. Responsible for initial inventory verification on the boat.
• Clean the boats and prepare for next rental.
• Provide guests with lake and resort information.
• Required to handle propane. Be knowledgeable in the handling of propane.
• Provide fuel and sewage pump-outs services.
• Turn on fuel lines and inspect daily. Complete the “6000 gal. fuel system daily inspection from”.
• Complete dye testing weekly.
• Know what the terms “lighting” and “relighting” mean and the way to perform these activities safely and properly.
• Monitor traffic of watercrafts at fuel area to ensure that boats are parked properly to provide safe mobility in marina area.
• Safely handle chemicals and fuel products to prevent potential hazards. Ensure customers observe safety precautions when refueling boats.
• Conduct accurate fuel readings both opening and closing. Know how to stick fuel tanks properly and calculate usage daily.
• Ensure garbage from boats and work area is properly disposed of and clean garbage receptacles.
• Maintain overall cleanliness of the marina. Clean the retail area and marina bathrooms daily.
• Maintain sanitation of cashiers booth and stocking of supplies.
• Complete minor maintenance tasks as necessary. Non-electrical, non-plumbing tasks.
• Complete fire extinguisher inspection monthly.
• Report medical emergencies.
• Always operate with an emphasis on guest hospitality.
• Use a “clean as you go” method when performing your work duties.
• Operate equipment with energy conservation in mind.
• Adhere to safety policies.
• Be present at all departmental, resort and training meetings.
• Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees (both within the department and in other resort departments).
• Maintain a positive attitude toward the resort and the job being performed.

General:

• Be aware of daily activities and events at the resort.
• Be knowledgeable of all resort operations.
• Perform all reasonable job requests assigned by General Manager.
• Material handling: stooping, bending, lifting an average of 30 pounds will be part of some job requirements.

Notice:

Digger Bay Marina functions seven days per week, 365 days per year. It is understood that, during our season, days off may fluctuate. It may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, I understand that business determines the amount of hours that I work, and that some weeks I may be scheduled t
