What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gas Dock - Attendant position at Peloria Bridge Bay LLC?
Job Title: Attendant – Fuel Dock
Department: Fuel Dock Reports to: Marina Manager
Position Prerequisites:
1. High school graduate preferred.
2. Knowledge of fueling operations.
3. Convenience store, service station or retail experience preferred.
4. Ability to work with guests in all areas, with a positive approach.
5. Ability to concentrate on detail and follow-up work while maintaining a high standard of guest satisfaction.
6. Ability to work as a team.
Purpose:
Service customers fuel needs and ensure safe practices are followed.
Major Duties:
1. Some cash handling will be required.
2. Pump fuel and sewage pumpout.
3. Know what the terms “lighting” and “relighting” mean and the way to perform these activities safely and properly.
4. Monitor traffic of watercraft at fuel area to ensure that boats are parked properly so as to provide safe mobility in marina area.
5. Maintain clean work area.
6. Ensure garbage from boats and work area is properly disposed.
7. Safely handle chemicals and fuel products to prevent potential hazards. Ensure customers observe safety precautions when refueling boats.
8. Conduct accurate fuel readings both opening and closing. Know how to stick fuel tanks properly and calculate usage.
9. Conduct dye test of sewage lines and inspect all fuel and sewage lines for leaks on a daily basis.
10. Always operate with an emphasis on guest hospitality.
12. Use a “clean as you go” method when performing your work duties.
13. Do no leave equipment running when not in use.
14. Adhere to safety policies.
15. Be present at all departmental, resort and training meetings.
16. Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees (both within the department and in other resort departments)
17. Maintain a positive attitude toward the resort and the job being performed.
General:
1. Be aware of daily activities and events at the resort.
2. Be knowledgeable of all resort operations.
3. Perform all reasonable job requests assigned by General Manager.
Material handling: stooping, bending, lifting an average of 30 pounds will be part of some job requirements.
