Duties And Responsibilities
The primary role of the Medical Office Coordinator is to oversee practice operations and business functions in an accurate and timely manner.
- Greet visitors and vendors; oversee patient flow.
- Schedule all procedure and follow-up appointments.
- Check and verify insurance data on forms, records, reports & correspondence; maintain department records.
- Ensure optimal use of the facility throughout all hours of operation. Ensuring patient and physician satisfaction and compliance with systems, policies, and procedures established for the office practice suite.
- Establish and implement new procedures to streamline office efficiency; coordinate staff schedules and Team meetings.
- Prepare and discuss financial plans with each patient for full transparency of Out of Network Benefits and Fees.
- Maintain a quiet and peaceful environment that promotes healing.
- Handle all confidential information with discretion and sensitivity, and within the HIPAA Laws.
- 1 years of experience in the medical field.
- Associate degree
- Bachelor's degree
- Exceptional customer service background; administrative and clerical ability
- Critical thinker, innovative, friendly, compassionate
- Excellent communication skills and supervisory ability
- Working knowledge of medical and billing terminology
- Knowledge of insurance billing processes; experience with medical pre-authorizations
